Got a great retail or restaurant business idea for Pendleton?
Win a $20,000 Path to Success Grant to fund your entrepreneurial dream in our city's revitalized shopping district.
In addition to the Path to Success competition open to all, Nixyaawii Community Financial Services (NCFS) is sponsoring a $2,500 grant challenge for Native entrepreneurs.
Apply online or print and send/deliver your application to: Pendleton City Hall, 500 SW Dorion Ave., Pendleton, OR 97801.
Deadline to apply for both grants is April 28, 2023.
TO QUALIFY FOR A PATH TO SUCCESS GRANT:
- Applicants must locate their retail or restaurant business in downtown Pendleton and have at least $10,000 to invest in it.
All winners must take a local business plan class (details to come). - Retail businesses can include:
Clothing, shoes, gifts, books, home furnishings, kitchenware, mini-mart, makers (leather workers, fabric artists, sculptors or others who create and sell products from their storefront), recreation activities (billiards, video games, etc.). - Food and beverage businesses can include: Restaurants, delis, desert bars, or other forms of retail food and beverage sales. Food carts are not eligible.
TO QUALIFY FOR A NCFS NATIVE ENTREPRENEUR GRANT:
- Applicants must have $500 to invest in their business.
- All winners must take a local business plan class (details to come).
- Retail businesses can include:
Clothing, shoes, gifts, books, home furnishings, kitchenware, mini-mart, makers (leather workers, fabric artists, sculptors or others who create and sell products from their storefront), recreation activities (billiards, video games, etc.). - Food and beverage businesses can include: Restaurants, delis, desert bars, food carts, or other forms of retail food and beverage sales.
After you apply, we’ll even help you write your business plan:
Three winners will each receive $20,000 towards the purchase of business equipment, furnishings and inventory. Additional prizes will include technology, professional services and free or discounted rent for the first six months.
