• You must have at least $30,000 to $50,000 in funds or approved credit (verifiable) to match the $20,000 grant (forgivable loan).
• You must meet the Qualification Requirements for this grant.

ELIGIBLE BUSINESS TYPES INCLUDE:

• Retailers that sell clothing, shoes, gifts, books, home furnishings or kitchenware; or mini-marts
• Makers such as leather workers, fabric artists, sculptors or others who create and sell their wares from their storefront.
• Recreation activities such as billiards or video games that might also feature food and beverage — and more!
• Food and beverage storefronts including restaurants, delis, desert bars, or other forms of retail food and beverage sales. Food carts are not eligible.

GET YOUR APPLICATION NOTICED:

1. In your application, explain in detail how your business will work. Have you researched the business? Describe your research and what you've learned. The better you explain how you have prepared to start a business, the more likely you are to advance to the second step: preparing and presenting a business plan.
2. Then talk about you! Include your experience and your knowledge of the type of business you'll open.

We have received over two dozen applications each year, since Path to Success started in 2022. Only 8 to 10 of those annual applicants are chosen to move to the business plan phase. Your first challenge is to rise to the top through your application.
